Kitchen table.

My kitchen table (for the moment), with books and articles about marketing, brands, consumption and how we dress according to social rules, classes, fashion victims and the list goes on from there.

Now it's back to more studies and less sleep.

18 years.

Today it's been 18 years since my youngest brother was born! I'm a little out of words, time flies ghastly fast.

I'm going to get a bit cheesy now (haha), but I've loved you from the beginning and I will love you  forever, with all my heart! After all you are a rock in my life.

Studies and more studies.

My mind is currently occupied with studies, studies and more studies. From tomorrow, I will be living in my own little bubble, away from the real world. Parisian fashion, its couture and prét-a-porter, history and all of what you could imagine. Italian and the fascist regim with its influence on fashion and the reconstruction of it. Well, of course mass consumtion too and its growth. Happy happy, joy joy! Well, if I'm not being ironic or sarcastic, I truly love to study fashion. I just hate the examination.

See you on the other side!

The Red Shoes.

Tonight as a little treat away from the studies, I think I might watch The Red Shoes.
Is it going to be as wonderful as I imagine it is? I adore old movies, with its drama and of course all the costumes.
I've always wanted to see it, and I love that Kate Bush did an album with the same title.

Don't make me sad, don't make me cry.

"Come and take a walk on the wild side
Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain
You like your girls insane
Choose your last words
This is the last time
Cause you and I, we were born to die."

Dress, studies and christmas.

Tonight I'm creating my christmas dress, a sort of long top in purple wool and viscose, as I always have nothing to wear.  Then it's some editorial work between all the studies and a new years simple dress. That's the only time I have free. I'm all wrapped up analyzing fashion and masculinity in the wonderful Donnie Darko, very interesting that I can tell you.

Haircut and night studies.

I got my annual haircut a few days ago, I have a tendency of always getting it right before christmas.
It's a bit of a "new" yet same style and a side bang (that's new)! Haha, I like it!

Now I'm gonna dig myself down in my literature and study, I love it, have a nice night!

Swept away.

This story from American Vogue November issue, styled by Grace Coddington and photographed by Patrick Dermachelier, is beautiful. I find it romantic yet a sense of sadness upon it, a longing for something, a sort of reality escapism. But that's only my point of veiw.

Pictures: The Terrier and Lobster.

Your city lies in dust.

"We found you hiding, we found you lying
Choking on the dirt and sand
Your former glories and all the stories
Dragged and washed with eager hands

But ohh oh your city lies in dust, my friend"

Siouxsie, will always be an inspiration, an icon and a truly unique artist.

Sadness and happiness, equals?

Sometimes I wish that I had something interesting to write about, I envy people (not always), as I see it, they have these extraordinary lives, that I don't get slightly close to. I want to feel that "happiness", although I'm also very pleased that I don't all the time. As it comes to me it's important to have both sides, if you don't know  sadness. How do you know feelings of happiness? For heavens sake, does anyone in this era live happily ever after? If they do, please tell me about it. I would like to hear your point of view, telling me I'm dreadfully wrong in not always endeavoring for that feeling of utter hapiness - all the time.

Maybe sadness is a blessing, yet a curse, as well as happiness is likewise, Taking myself as an example, can experience happiness as a dreadful emotion as it can be the most wonderful in it's fullest. Happiness and sadness can't live without each other. Is there even a hint of beauty by being able to have it all?

Fashion & Movies.

This picture, taken by Nelson Evans of Mary Pickford, looking at stars, is adorable.
As I now begin to study fashion from a cinematic approach, makes this even more important to see how old moviestars dressed and how it reflects us, and how cinema and tv still plays a major part in dressing. What makes a movie star a fashion icon? I'm about to find out...

There is always something.

Isn't it very funny that when everything is flowing - there is always something to mess it up completely and utterly as it would do it on purpose ! Oh, how I love it!

Art & illusions.

Natalie Shau again, darlings! I more than love her artwork, there's something about the slightly macabre yet stunning feeling she creates, that for me is adorned and beautiful. An illusion that we're somewhere in a fairytale, or maybe a dream.

Autumn bipolarity.

When autumn arrives, there is a certain swift in the air, not only is it cooler. It has come to be a sort of change for me. Like the knowledge that the sun is slowly going to shine less and it will get darker. I take comfort in that. I don't like flickering lights, it is truly beautiful but my head can't stand it. Others can, I admire them. I love all the colours. So by wearing sunglasses, hiding behind a big scarf and pretend that I don't have a head that is slowly going to rip me apart is a way out. I'm good at pretending and it has become an advantage. It's how I manage it, I have to go on pretending. A little bit dramatic, but it seems to work.

Adorned in red.

Pictures borrowed from:  Asos & Net á Porter.

I've always loved the colour red, nothing speaks to my eye as much as it does. Black, is a so called "standard" element in my wardrobe, therefore as a contrast colour - red - have always been in the forefront. All different shades, from dark burgundy to brighter ones. This fall my eye falls on the burgundy, rusty and also matte style of fabric.
