Art & illusions.

Natalie Shau again, darlings! I more than love her artwork, there's something about the slightly macabre yet stunning feeling she creates, that for me is adorned and beautiful. An illusion that we're somewhere in a fairytale, or maybe a dream.

Remarkable work of art!

I give you Michael Parkes!

Venus

Indian Summer

Tuesday's Child

I fell over this just fantastic artist today, love at first sight for his work - truly remarkable.
It's stepping into a world of mythology, fantasy and mindscape, an illusion of reality with escapism.

Doing something different, leads to?

I'm not a fan of commercials, never was. But sometimes a good commercial comes along, like this one from Absolut Vodka, love it, cause it's artistic, something you wouldn't at the first point expect. I know this is old, but hey, I still like it.

Dance as an artform...

I do miss dancing, a little bit too much right now! The "if" is constantly repeating itself, as the question why I stopped torments my mind. There's a reason of course, but I wish that things would've turned out in some other way. I'm still thinking of picking up on dance, cause I really can't stop watching ballet, movies about dance, competitions, dance is such a pure astonishing fabulous work of artform... For me it takes my breath away. Would I have liked not to have a sickness regarding my physical health, but hey - it's life. I'll make it work, we'll see...

Now it's time for So You Think You Can Dance?

At least once in my life I do intend to see real ballet performed,
hopefully in Russia and to Tchaikovsky's masterpieces...

Apollo and Daphne!

My head is about to explode soon. Not literally though, some sort of mentally. I have so much on my mind that I don't know where to put it. I think I would feel good if I went into a very dark room, and stayed there until this is over. I'm looking for all kinds of inspiration... And I'm going back to my art books, looking through everything that I might find some interest in. Reading through the Acheamendid Empire to this present day... That's very much information... But I'm up for the challenge! I'll give you one of my favourite sculptures! By no one else than Bernini himself!

If you want to learn more, go check up Apollo and Daphne,
and see their beautiful lovestory here carved in marble...

And yes, I will soon upload lots of the new delightful couture collection from Dior!

Thoughts about life as I know it today...

Life seem a little bit to fond of playing with me, or at least my mind likes it. I don't, just to be clear. All things seem to happen at the same time, but hey I love it when it does, but you can never be careless, ever. Slightest slip and you'll be dragging your sorry little ass back! So how do you learn to live with everything at the same time? Not relying on someone to always be there except you? Where do you find yourself in all the chaotic and calm thunderstrom in your cup?

I have to tell you, working for my father is always interesting, I literally grew up with antique stuff, that led me to start thinking about interior designs and that maybe baroque, rococo, art nouveau (jugend for swedish people), or maybe art deco should suit my home? Wanting my first old vintage corset (from the c. 1800) when I was 11 and the dresses, the shoes, the just pure art in what became what I'll be working with. As always having the fortune of looking at things that are extraodrinary, it's just a swell! I still haven't got my real 1800 vintage rare corset, but the dream is alive, yet! I know I love antique furniture, architechture, clothing - there's a history in every antique object that I see...

Fair, flawless romantic beauty...

One amazing photographer, I fell over a couple of weeks ago, is the Japanese Namiko Kitaura. She is fantastic in a very specific way. Making sure your eye needs and wants more - of her brilliance. Take a look for yourselves!

Imaginatively Wonderland!

As always when I find something lovely, I'll be putting it up here... As a collector of fairytales, and also loving the antique crafts that come my way, it's not unusual that I tend to preferably like photos that have a slightly touch of a scent of old in them... Wonder off to a wonderland of my own little bubble, were there's no outer chaos and anxiety, it's all just pure magical imagination, so enjoy!

Prints and Revolution!

I found the complete series, of some magical colourful and vivid pictures some days ago, one of the pictures is one that's been up in my blog several of times. Steven Klein is the photographer and the beautiful model is none else than Jessica Stam and a male model, that I don't have the name of, lovely collaboration with V magazine. Hope you love them as much as I do! This is purely remarkable pictures!

Softened colors...

For a week ago, I got something in my mail, no, nothing really important, but a brochure about christmas gifts from none than Åhléns here in Sweden. I never tend to look at them really closely but when I saw the illustrations, my heart jumped! They really did it well, or they choose a illustrator that are in my point of view one of swedens most talented ones, Lina Bodén, she just is extraordinary in what she does, there's no question about that. Adoreable!

McQueen's Plato's Atlantis!

Alexander McQueen is, amazing, he just pulls out more and more of lovely, strange creations from his sleeve... Than I ever imagined that he would, the shoes are ridiculous, funny and strangely formed, but I loove them! He is just too talented, stepping up for each collections that he does. No wonder why he's rising further and further as one of the most innovative designers that's out there.

I want those blue shoes, I looove them, true and pure art!

Photos taken from Style, go take a look, I can promise you, that you won't get disappointed!

When art is more than fantastic art.

Occasionally you find things that just appeals to you, in most of mine cases it's photographers and stylists, and of course designers that I find and tend to enjoy so much that I just burst out and want to share with everyone that stops by here, to see these amazing people who left you speechless, none the less, you might find so many words for it, that you don't know were to begin. I found a photographer called Eugenio Recuenco, who I've stumbled over before, not noticing the wonderful work he does, here are some samples! This is something between fantastic/wonderful/morbid/fantasy...

Foodscape lands!

You just have to take a look at a photographer called Carl Warner, he's brilliant! You have to see the pictures to understand, so I'll just post them and you can take a look, cause as I always say, it's better for them to speak to you, then for me to speak for them...

Now I'm gonna listen to Stevie Nicks, and forget about everything.

Dance of the sugar plum fairy!

If there is one thing that I have adored since I knew what it was, it's been ballet, I wish I had learned how to dance one of the most structural and beautiful dances there's ever been. It's discipline, precision and careful moves that touches me, just how precise they can be, so fragile... And yes, one of my favourites among the impressionist did paint ballet dancers. So with Tchaikovsky in my ears I give you - Edgar Degas!

Dancing away with the sugarplum fairy, so long!
